What would you do with a million dollars – or two?

What would you do if you won a lot of money in Lotto?

How much? Well, let’s say a million dollars or two.

When it comes up in conversation, it is quickly clear that there isn’t one obvious approach that most people would adopt.

Just about everyone has a different view about giving some of the money away, some arguing that if you win a lot of money you have an obligation to give some of it away, especially if you have grown up children with families and mortgages of their own.

One thing’s for sure: one million bucks is not enough for anyone to say they’re going to work the next day to tell the boss to shove the job.

Either way remember that there are a lot of stories about instant millionaires that have ended in tears.

But it can’t be that bad, surely, and we agree with the dude who said: I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor and I will take rich every time.

Here’s the Top 5 things some people may do if they win a million or two in the lottery:

Number 1: Pay off the mortgage. Boring but true.

Number 2. Think about giving some of it away but putting it in the too hard basket.

Number 3. Go on that trip of a lifetime, travelling first class all the way. Yeah, baby!

Number 4. Have another think about helping other members of the family but can’t work out how to do it without telling them you’ve won the lottery.

Number 5. Bugger it, pay for a corporate box for life at your footy team’s home ground with all the money you saved by not giving any of it away to people who will complain you didn’t give them enough.
