Robbers armed with wooden stick and silver baseball bat

Three people were assaulted inside a Campbelltown unit last night by two men armed with a wooden stick and a silver baseball bat.

Police investigating the assault say the assailants demanded money before assaulting the three victims.

One of the victims was hit in the head.

The assailants smashed a laptop before feeling the scene.

The three people inside the apartment suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

A call to the police was made around 9.40pm last night reporting the incident, which happened in a block of apartments along Narellan Road.

Police from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and are now appealing for witnesses.

They would like to speak with two men they believe can assist with inquiries.

One man is described as being 180 to 185cm tall with a solid build. He was wearing a black/grey hooded jumper with red clothing wrapped around his face.

Another man is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a Middle Eastern accent. He was wearing a black hooded jumper.

• A 25 year old man will face court today after police charged him will robbing a convenience store at Campbelltown.

The robbery of a store in Queen Street took place about 2am on January 22.

The robber approached the shop employee and threatened him with a knife before demanding money.

About 11am yesterday, Campbelltown detectives executed a search warrant at a unit in Campbelltown and seized a number of items.

At 5pm police arrested a 25-year-old man and took him to Campbelltown Police Station and charged him with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.

• Two male teenagers aged 16 and 18 have been charged with setting a couch on fire and causing significant damage to a community centre in Thirlmere.

The 18 year old was charged with damaging property by fire, and granted conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on March 13.

A 16-year-old boy was also charged with damaging property by fire. He was granted conditional bail and will appear at a Children’s Court on March 12.

The incident happened on January 29.

Emergency services were called to Westbourne Avenue, Thirlmere after witnesses saw smoke coming from the community centre toilet block.
