South west region residents opposed to the Moorebank intermodal are being urged to lodge their objections by the close of business tomorrow, Friday, November 25.
That’s when submissions close to Moorebank precinct west, the stage 2 of the project, which received Concept Plan Approval in June of this year.
The stage 2 plans have been on exhibition for a month at Liverpool Council, Liverpool Library, Campbelltown Council and Campbelltown Library.
The key components of the stage 2 proposal for an intermodal terminal facility include:
• Installation of nine rail sidings and locomotive shifter;
• Truck processing and loading areas;
• Container storage area;
• Administration facility, workshop and car parking;
• Rail link connection;
• Around 215,000 cubic metres of warehousing, plus ancillary offices and warehouse access roads;
• Upgraded intersection on Moorebank Avenue and construction of an internal road;
• Ancillary works.
Members of Residents Against Intermodal Development (RAID) are calling on local residents to take a few minutes of their time to “lodge your objections to the latest hoop they are wanting us to jump through for the Moorebank Intermodal’’.
“Time is running out and we need you to stand up and say no, they say in messages emailed to residents.
“Every submission counts and we need yours.
“Say NO to the thousands of trucks on our local roads!
“Say NO to the diesel emissions that will pollute our local air!
“Say NO to the devastation this project will cause to our river!
“Say NO to the destruction of habitat for many of our local species, including the massive koala population we have in our area.’’
If you’d like to make a submission click this link here and follow the instructions.
