President: Maria Sapienza has taken the reins of the Greater Narellan chamber of commerce.

Stepping down as president after three years, Adriana Care says the new board of the Greater Narellan Chamber of Commerce will reach “amazing’’ new heights.

“I wish to personally congratulate Maria Sapienza for her appointment as president and wish her the best of luck,’’ Ms Care said in her outgoing president’s report last week.

“I wish to say how grateful I am to the new board for stepping up and taking on the challenge of running one of the most successful and largest growing chambers in NSW.

“Whilst the task may be daunting I know with the new skill set that has joined the team they will take the chamber to amazing heights.

“Maria has served on the board for the last four years with me, and I appreciate her support and passion, traits that will continue the success of the chamber,’’ Ms Care said.

The chamber grew to almost 250 members in the past three years and recorded on average more than $200,000 a year in turnover.

And the chamber won back to back Local Chamber of the Year Awards for NSW Chamber of Commerce.

“We have built an online system and paperless processes with online accounts,’’ Ms Care said in her report.

“We were the first to introduce sponsors, concepts and ideas and marketing promotions for both our members and sponsors – these are now replicated by other chambers.

“We own and run a successful community event, Christmas in Narellan, with a $100,000 budget for the whole community to enjoy,’’ Ms Care said.
