On the way: The new Astra is both stylish and practical, says Holden.

Holden’s small car range is about to get a serious dose of excitement when the all-new Astra arrives later this year.

Already crowned the 2016 European Car of the Year, the multi-award winning Astra will mark the much-revered model’s return to Holden’s lineup as a stylish, practical and technologically advanced five-door hatch.

Holden says the new five-door Astra will deliver outstanding appeal.

Developed from a clean sheet of paper, it is a showcase of style, turbocharged performance, driving dynamics and state-of-the-art entertainment and connectivity features that together make the new Astra one of Europe’s best small hatchbacks.

Holden executive director of sales Peter Keley says the new Astra is a world-class vehicle that would “redefine’’ the small car segment.

“Astra is one of the most technologically advanced small cars in the world and, in addition to an intuitive infotainment system, it also boasts a range of premium features you would usually expect only on high-end prestige vehicles,” Keley says.

“With our Holden engineers being embedded in the program from the beginning and giving Astra that special Holden touch, you can be assured Astra will be perfectly suited to Australian conditions.”
