It may be chilly outside but that’s no reason for school kids to get bored during the winter school holidays, between July 7 and 22.
Campbelltown City Council’s winter school holiday program offers a variety of activities for children and teens, from movies and cooking classes in libraries to inflatable days at leisure centres, and excursions through holiday care services.
Some of the highlights in the libraries will include a Let’s Have Fun with Art workshop at
HJ Daley Library, Coding with Scratch at Eagle Vale Library, Pirate Antics at Glenquarie Library and a Wacky Science Show at Greg Percival Library.
Kids can make a splash at Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre, Eagle Vale Central and Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury, with each facility offering an intensive learn to swim program, as well as pool inflatable days.
For those keen to take to the track, the Campbelltown Bicycle Education and Road Safety Centre is open from 10am to 3pm on weekdays and Sundays during the school holidays. Entry is free – just bring your own bike or scooter and helmet.
Footy fans aged five to 17 will have the opportunity to meet former Rabbitohs captain Roy Asotasi at a free football clinic at Macquarie Fields Indoor Sports Centre on Monday, July 9, between 9am and 10.30am.
Kids will also be able to sign up for the free Reggie Fan Club and brush up on their skills by participating in footy drills.
Campbelltown City and Eagle Vale school holiday care centres are open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and offer a range of exciting activities and excursions.
Family day care educators will also hold activities and excursions during the school break.
