How’s your supply chain? A Liverpool forum on this issue on May 22 will help local businesses.

Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun is inviting local businesses to attend a special supply chain forum on Friday, May 22 to help them review their supply chains and improve their business strategies.

Liverpool Council secured $30,000 from the Industry, Skills and Regional Development agency (formerly Department of Trade and Investment) under the Supply Chain Accelerator Program to run the special forum for Liverpool businesses and work closely with 12 high turnover businesses, Mayor Ned Mannoun said.

The aim of the program is to provide tools and resources to businesses so they can assess their current supply chain strategies and consider alternatives that could lead to new opportunities.

“Liverpool Council is committed to creating a vibrant, prosperous city that attracts business and investment,” Mayor Ned Mannoun said.

“As part of that commitment we also want to work closely with the businesses that are already established here, and events such as this forum are part of that commitment.

“The Supply Chain Forum is designed to address those challenges and will assist businesses to focus on their competitiveness and growth by reviewing their supply chain – or inputs into their business.

“As well as the forum, council has worked one on one with 12 local businesses with a turnover between $1million and $20 million plus local subsidiaries of a number of multinational companies to review their supply chains. We’ll talk about the findings of those reviews at the forum, so everyone can learn from them.”

Speakers at the forum include:

·         Tony Broughton, Managing Director of Supply Chain Squared

·         John Cook, Manager, Manufacturing Industry, NSW Business Chamber

·         Samea Maakrun, Managing Director of Sasy n Savy

·         Steve Atherton, CEO of BioGill

·         Chris Williams, Executive Director and General Manager of H.I. Fraser

·         John Meyer, Managing Director of SWA Water Group

♦ The Supply Chain Forum is a free event that will be held at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre on May 22 from 9am to noon.
