Couple threatened with firearm on Cowpasture Road

crimestoppers2Police are appealing for public assistance after a couple were approached and threatened with a firearm at Horningsea Park.

The alleged incident took place just three hours into the new year.

The man and woman, both aged 22, were walking along Cowpasture Road about 3.15am on Friday (January 1, 2016), when a vehicle stopped near them, with the front passenger asking them to get in the vehicle.

The front passenger called out to the pair, repeatedly asking them to get in the vehicle.

When they declined, the man produced a firearm and pointed it at them before the vehicle left.

Officers from Green Valley Local Area Command attended the scene of the incident and commenced inquiries.

Investigators are now appealing for public assistance in an attempt to identify the vehicle and people involved.

The passenger is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early to mid 20s, with a slim build and dark brown hair.

The couple was not able to provide a description of the driver.

The vehicle is believed to be a gold or silver Holden Commodore with partial registration BU5 or BY5.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they have information that may assist, is urged to come forward.
