Police are investigating the death of a man overnight in the Housing Commission suburb of Claymore.

Police are investigating the death of a man during an altercation at Claymore overnight.

Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were called to a home on Leigh Street about 9pm (Monday, January 4), after receiving reports a number of people were fighting.

A 33-year-old man was found unconscious and taken to Campbelltown Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

Two women – aged 33 and 32 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station where they are continuing to assist with inquiries.

A man was also arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station; however, the 34-year-old was later taken to hospital for treatment. He remains under police guard.

Inquiries into the incident continue, with local police being assisted by officers from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

crimestoppers2♦ In a separate incident, a  man has been charged two days after he allegedly assaulted a disabled woman at Green Valley.

Police were called to Green Valley Road just after 6pm on Saturday (January 2), after reports a man had punched and kicked a wheelchair bound woman on a bus.

The 45-year-old woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Officers from Green Valley Local Area Command attended and arrested a 41-year-old man.

He was taken to Green Valley Police Station before being taken to hospital for observation.

About 12pm yesterday (Monday, January 4), the man was arrested after being discharged from hospital.

He was again taken to Green Valley Police Station where he was charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Liverpool man was given bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on January 21.

♦ In a third incident, a crime scene is being established at Miller following a shooting last night.

Emergency services were called to Collinsville Place about 11.15pm, where they found a man with gunshot wounds to his legs.

The 52-year-old was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from Green Valley Local Area Command are establishing a crime scene and conducting a search of the area as inquiries continue.
