A Chinese property developer ranked in that country’s top 50 has just bought its third large parcel of land in South West Sydney.

Dahua Group Australia purchased the 134 hectare Menangle Park property from Campbelltown City Council.

The parcel is next to a 364 hectare site Dahua bought from UrbanGrowth NSW last year.

Dahua says the new parcel will add 800 homes to its masterplanned developments at Menangle Park, which are expected to deliver more than 3,100 homes as well as a new town centre, school, community facilities and large areas of open space.

Dahua also acquired a land parcel in Edmondson Park from UrbanGrowth NSW late last year.

These three major land acquisitions are expected to create a total of more than 4,380 homes, positioning Dahua as one of the most significant land developers in the South West Sydney region.

Dahua was established in 1988 and its headquarters is in Shanghai, China.

“We are very excited about acquiring our third major land holding in Sydney’s South West,’’ says Eric Li, the general manager for Dahua Australia.

“All three land parcels are located at the epicentre of the South West growth corridor and will benefit greatly from the State Government’s multi-billion investment in infrastructure, jobs and community facilities in the area,’’ he said.

“We intend to be at the forefront of this activity and are looking forward to creating communities that will set new benchmarks for livability and lifestyle.’’

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the sale was another step towards cementing Campbelltown as the leading regional city of South West Sydney.

“Council recognises that we need to play a role in securing new investment to help make Campbelltown a more sustainable place, community and economy, and we look forward to working with Dahua to ensure the success of this project.”
