In the spirit of this year’s Anzac centenary, the Campbelltown Mayor’s Charity Race Night next month will raise money for Macarthur Legacy, a local division of Sydney Legacy, to assist with a range of community support programs.

Grab your family, friends or work colleagues and make a night of it for a magnificent cause at Tabcorp Park, Menangle on Saturday, April 18.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said all of Macarthur Legacy’s projects were funded through public appeals for donations, and he encouraged everyone to support the event to help make a difference.

“Macarthur Legacy volunteers provide personal support to more than 670 widows across the region, as well as people with disability and students,” Cr Lake said.

“Beneficiaries of Macarthur Legacy are assisted through a variety of initiatives, including specialised disability respite holidays, personal alarm monitoring systems, social outings for the elderly, home visits and referrals to other local support services.

“In this year of commemorating the Anzac centenary, show your support for the families and beneficiaries of Macarthur Legacy by either sponsoring the event or coming along for a great night out,” Cr Lake added.

“Join us in a trackside marquee in support of a worthy cause and enjoy direct access to the track and facilities, food, beverages and great entertainment. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll be helping the fantastic work of Macarthur Legacy continue in our community – and that’s a legacy you can be proud of,” Cr Lake said.

The event will be held from 6pm to 11pm. Tickets are $99 each (or $900 for a table of 10).

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available, from platinum to bronze and Mayor Lake has called on local businesses to consider getting involved this way to support such a great cause.
