The countdown has started to this year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

One of the highlights, the parade, will be on Saturday, November 5, but the festival fun will start a whole day earlier.

The Fisher’s Ghost carnival returns to Bradbury Park from Friday, November 4 for the first of two huge weekends of fun-filled entertainment for Macarthur families across the region.

More than 25 adrenalin-pumping, stomach-churning rides will make their way to Campbelltown for the popular, annual carnival.

Take on the Avenger and Pirate’s Revenge, or for those enjoying a quieter pace, there will be the thumps and bumps of the Dodgem Cars, sideshows, showbags and food.

A spectacular fireworks display will also thrill the crowds on both Saturday nights at 9pm.

But this year’s event offers even more entertainment and activities, with a free Fisher’s Family Fun Day, running adjacent to the carnival, on both Sundays.

Children will enjoy a petting zoo, face painting and balloon artists, while the whole family can take part in the circus workshops, experience the adrenaline rush of a motocross show or marvel at the talents of the roving stilt walkers.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said you can’t go past the Fisher’s Ghost carnival to get you into the festival spirit.

“With so many scary rides giving carnival-goers a good fright, it fits in perfectly with the festival’s spooky theme. There’ll be so much to do and enjoy,” he said.

“Mums, dads and kids will all be able to get hands-on at the circus workshops, be awed by the talented motocross riders or pat popular farm animals at the petting zoo.”

Entry to the carnival and the fun day is free, however, there is a cost for rides and food.

The Friday Fun Frenzy four-hour unlimited ride passes will be available again this year. The passes will be available for pre-sale from the Campbelltown Visitor Information Centre from this Friday, October 21, for $30, or at the carnival on Friday nights for $37. Passes are redeemable for one Friday night only, between 6pm and 10pm.
