This Sunday afternoon Campbelltown Sports Stadium will host a performance from the Afghan Fajar Association Drums group.
Also set to delight the crowd will be a display of African hair braiding, a performance by Chinese Dragons and a Maori Poi Stick workshop.
And somewhere in there they will squeeze a game of rugby league or three.
That’s right, while it may sound like a giant multicultural day in the south west region, it is all part of the footy landscape in 2017.
The mighty Wests Tigers, who comfortably brushed aside the South Sydney Rabbitohs last Friday night, will line up against Western Sydney rivals, the Penrith Panthers.
The round two clash will kick off at 4pm in front of what should be a big crowd, given that the Panthers are fancied by the bookies to win the 2017 title.
The Panthers have eased a little in the betting market after getting thumped by St George on the weekend, but are expected to bounce back against Wests Tigers this Sunday.
Earlier this afternoon, Wests coach Jason Taylor named the same 17 players who defeated Souths last Friday, including youngster Moses Suli on the wing.
Michael Chee Kam has been named at starting centre, with new recruit Jamal Idris named to come off the bench yet again.
Wesley Lolo is the only change to the 21-man squad named by Taylor, replacing JJ Felise on the extended interchange bench.
In other grades, the club’s Intrust Super Premiership side will be looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat against Wyong last week, with NRL squad member Jordan Rankin named in the halves in what is a new look side.
In Holden Cup, Chris Hutchison’s side remains relatively unchanged from their win over the Rabbitohs, with the only changes coming on the extended interchange bench.
We don’t have a crystal ball that shows the winner in the first grade clash between Panthers and Tigers, but one thing’s for certain: with three games of footy and some incredible multicultural festivities on the card, Campbelltown Sports Stadium will be the place to be this Sunday afternoon.
