Campbelltown will get its own Service NSW centre – more than 11 years after it was closed by a Coalition Government.
It is scheduled to open before Christmas.
This morning, local member Greg Warren, who has campaigned to reverse the decision to close the Tindall Street RMS centre ever since, joined NSW customer service minister Jihad Dib and Leppington MP Nathan Hagarty to confirm a Service NSW centre was coming back to Campbelltown.
The announcement was made at the premises of the new Service NSW centre on the second floor of Macarthur Square.
“This is an incredible outcome that our community has fought so hard for,’’ Mr Warren said.
“The previous government should never have taken away our former RMS office, and I am proud to be a part of a government which is bringing back this essential service.’’
The new centre ticks every box, including being close to public transport, and with plenty of parking outside.
“This central location with significant public transport access means that all Campbelltown residents will have convenient access to government support at their local Service NSW – something that our community has been crying out for,’’ Mr Warren said.
“Whether you’re sitting your driver test, renewing a licence or accessing government support, this new centre will make life easier for thousands of people across the region.’’
Mr Hagarty said the Service NSW centre at Macarthur Square would also be of benefit to people in his electorate who lived in the Campbelltown local government area, including Raby and Eagle Vale.
The new Campbelltown Service Centre in Macarthur Square will feature a modern design where customers can access more than 1300 NSW Government transactions and services.
The centre will also serve customers in Ambarvale, Appin, Bradbury, Leumeah and Menangle Park, complementing existing centres in Edmondson Park and Gregory Hills.
“We expect that 100,000 people will use this centre every year,’’ said Minister Dib.

The design includes 14 customer service counters, self service digital kiosks, computer testing spaces as well as meeting spaces for booked appointments to provide an improved customer experience.
Driver testing will be available from the new centre as well as from the nearby Macquarie Fields Driver Testing Centre.
“This is great news for the people of Campbelltown who will no longer have to travel to neighbouring areas to access vital government services,’’ Minister Dib said.
“Securing this location means we’re bringing those services back to the heart of the community, close to public transport, shops and other essential services.’’
