This is an incredibly exciting time for the region, says Steve Moore, the newly elected president of Narellan business chamber.
“Sustained record residential and business growth prior to lockdowns, and the imminent aerotropolis construction, positions the Narellan region for extensive short term investment that all members can capitalise on,’’ Mr Moore said after taking over the chamber reins from Shaun Pereira.
“As a chamber we have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders such as local government, developers and Business NSW to grow our network and increase the value we can deliver to our members and sponsors through consistent internal support and exclusive access to resources and benefits.
“To achieve this, it is our aim to construct a multiyear strategic plan to clearly illustrate to members our objectives and the strategies we will employ for delivering growth and value.’’
Mr Moore, who is the general manager of hospitality at Club Menangle, also thanked the outgoing board and Mr Pereira, Narellan chamber president for the past three years.
“Shaun took over in some difficult circumstances, but from that time he has positioned the chamber to grow and prosper, leading us through the pandemic to be in a place where members can support each other to emerge from the lockdowns,’’ Mr Moore said.
“Looking ahead, it is my vision to continue the work done by Shaun and the outgoing directors in growing our chamber.
“My guiding belief of the chamber’s purpose is to support each other through collective advocacy,’’ Mr Moore said.
Also elected to the board at last week’s annual general meeting were the following directors:

- Membership – Sandra Bartlett;
- Meeting – Carla Upfill;
- Marketing – Kirsti Reynolds;
- Sponsorship – Jeanette Griffiths;
- Events – Brad Martino.
Mr Moore, pictured above, said that with restrictions being lifted, he and the board were hopeful face to face chamber meetings would resume in November.
