Fisher's Gig is for young local bands and performers.
If you want to perform at this year’s Fisher’s Gig you’d better hurry, June 3 is last day to register your expression f interest.

Calling all young music bands and performers, your chance to get out there and make a name for yourself is here.

Campbelltown City Council is seeking expressions of interest from local acts to audition to perform at this year’s annual youth music festival – Fisher’s Gig – the popular and largest all ages music festival in South West Sydney.

Fisher’s Gig 2016 is a drug and alcohol free, all ages event.

Over the years it has been a platform for young artists and performers to display their talent to a vast audience.

It is held as part of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost in November.

But if you and your band want to get in on the act you’d better hurry because the expressions of interest period ends early next month.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the event offered local performers a valuable professional development opportunity and first hand experience of the music industry.

“This is a chance to get yourself noticed, get your name out there and most of all have some fun performing for your local community,” Cr Hawker said.

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“I encourage our young local musicians to take advantage of the opportunity to hone your performance skills in front of a live audience – it could just be the launching pad to a career in the music industry.”[/social_quote]

Expressions of Interest are now open and close on Friday, June 3.

Council is inviting all acts including bands, singers, DJs and soloists to apply to audition for this year’s event, with pre-selection heats to be held in July.

To register your interest to perform at the Fisher’s Gig heats, download an application form here and submit it by June 3.
