If you run a Macarthur business and are thinking of entertaining your clients at the footy this year, time’s running out.
The 2017 NRL season kicks off on Thursday, March 2 and the Wests Tigers launch their campaign the following night at ANZ Stadium when they take on South Sydney Rabbitohs from 8pm.
But Campbelltown fans won’t have long to wait to see them live: Wests Tigers will host Penrith on Sunday, March 12 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in round two of the 2017 premiership.
Then there’s a long wait for the next of the four games which are played at Campbelltown every season.
In round 14, the Tigers host the Roosters at Campbelltown on Sunday, June 11 and are back in round 16 for the clash with the Gold Coast Titans.
The Titans match is scheduled for Friday night, June 23.
In the last of the four Campbelltown games the Tigers will take on the Cowboys in round 25.
The scheduling of the four local games has never pleased everybody in Macarthur and the same can probably be said for the Balmain side of the merger.
If you have some questions you’d like to ask the club about these matches or indeed the direction of the joint venture, the next Campbelltown chamber of commerce dinner meeting will be the place to be.
Instead of a guest speaker there will be a Wests Tigers panel in attendance to take part in a Q&A.
Club ceo Justin in Pascoe will be taking part, as will community engagement officer Shaun Spence and front row forward Tim Grant.
Local legend and premiership winner John Skandalis, who now works for the club in a number of roles, including corporate sales, will also be part of the panel. “Skando” is the man to see if you’re seriously considering hiring a corporate box at the footy this season.
The chamber dinner will be on next Wednesday (6pm for a 6.30pm start), February 15 at the Camden Lakeside Golf Club.
