Last year the South West Voice published an exclusive  story predicting that Liverpool would finally become part of the University of Western Sydney.

The article claimed that for very good reasons, including Liverpool’s projected strong growth, a faculty of architecture would be the most likely result for Liverpool.

Presently the university does not have a faculty of architecture, another reason for the speculation at the time.

Now has come the time to find out what Liverpool will get, if anything.

Tomorrow at 11.45 am, the NSW Premier, Mike Baird is scheduled to make an announcement “about UWS in Liverpool’’.

The venue for the announcement may or may not be relevant to what Mike Baird will be announcing: the Anzac Courtyard of Liverpool Hospital.

The university’s faculty of medicine was established a few years ago in Campbelltown.

The invitation to the media says that at 11.45am tomorrow, Premier Mike Baird will “make a major announcement about UWS’s future in Liverpool.

“UWS Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover and Mayor Ned Mannoun will also speak’’, it said.

Also in attendance will be members of the Committee for Liverpool, which will meet later in the day.

Established in 2015, this will be their second meeting.

They are a “high level advisory board that contributes expertise, networks and contacts across a range of sectors to support economic and social development activities in Liverpool”.

The committee is chaired by the mayor, Ned Mannoun.
