Ready to Ride Day on again.
Ready to Ride 2016 will be at Marsden Park in Campbelltown from 10am to midday on Sunday, September 18.

It’s almost time for local residents of all ages to get on their bikes for the 20126 Ready to Ride Day.

Campbelltown Council’s Ready to Ride Day is a free community event held during NSW Bike Week to promote bicycle safety and the health benefits of cycling.

This year’s event will be held at Marsden Park in Campbelltown from 10am to midday on Sunday, September 18.

Marsden Park boasts a shared off-road cycleway, and aims to deliver health and environmental benefits through its connection to a network of on-road and off-road cycle ways.

Ready to Ride Day combines bike safety education with fun activities for riders of all ages and abilities, including a road safety quiz with prizes, bike skills course, free bike maintenance checks, fun children’s activities and a healthy morning tea.

Council also provides a permanent educational facility to help riders of all ages gain confidence to two wheels.

Its Bicycle and Road Safety Education Centre is located off King Street, Campbelltown.

It features an off-road cycleway, complete with traffic lights, roundabouts and road signs, and programs to teach children about road rules and bicycle safety.

The centre holds regular open days, and can be booked for birthday parties or for school and community groups.
