It is part performance, part exhibition, part workshop, part interactive fun and titled I Think I Can.
At the Casula Powerhouse from Wednesday, January 7 to Friday, January 9 and from Monday, January 12 to Saturday, January 17, 2015, this is a great activity to take the kids to during these summer holidays.
The way it works is that you choose a miniature puppet as your alter ego and play out your new life on a large-scale model railway.
I Think I Can brings together model trains, intricate puppetry, live video and active audience participation to create an innovative public artwork that asks: “What would you like to be today?”
I Think I Can was Created by Sam Routledge and Martyn Coutts.
Sam doubles as director, along with the media artist and dramaturge Martyn Coutts, the software and interactive design is by Matt Gingold and Oliver Marriott.
I Think I Can design is by Jonathon Oxlade, while the website and graphic design is by Futago. The team is rounded off with consultant Ian Pidd.
I Think I Can was originally produced by Intimate Spectacle and created in association with The Australian Model Railway Association, Glen Iris.
Session times at Casula Powerhouse will be 10am-noon and 1-3pm.
While I Think I Can is free, the Powerhouse is gently suggesting a gold coin donation.
