Thanks to the generosity of the Campbelltown community around 300 Indigenous children will get a visit from Santa this Christmas.
Hundreds of toys were donated by residents and businesses in Campbelltown to the annual Christmas Toy Drive run by MP Greg Warren and supported by Macarthur Square and Anytime Fitness.
The local MP said he was knocked over by the response.
“The community’s response to my Christmas toy drive has been simply overwhelming,’’ he said.
“While the Christmas holidays are a joyful period for many in our community, sadly for too many local children the holidays can be a very difficult time of great hardship.
“These toys are going to put smiles on the faces of so many of those children doing it tough this Christmas, so to everyone that donated, I say thank you so very much.”
Mr Warren delivered the toys to Macarthur Gateway Resource Service, a local Indigenous service provider that caters for a large number of local women and children affected by family and domestic violence.
Macarthur Gateway Resource Service executive officer Marilyn Fogarty said the toys would benefit more than 300 local Indigenous children experiencing extreme hardship over the Christmas holiday period.

“We have over 300 Aboriginal children who will receive amazing gifts this year, and without the support from Greg Warren, Macarthur Square and Anytime Fitness we could not provide this type of support at Christmas.
“Again, we just want to thank everyone who donated the toys, Macarthur Square and Anytime Fitness for their support and Greg Warren for his unfailing and community-minded support to our service and to our local community.”
