Help is available to make tax time a little less stressful.

It’s that time of year again – tax time.

But tax time doesn’t need to be stressful, thanks to Campbelltown City Council’s free Tax Help service.

Tax Help is a network of community volunteers, trained by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), who provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax return.

This service is available to anyone earning up to $50,000 a year, students or seniors with a straight forward tax return.

The free service is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays until October 25.

Interested residents can simply call Campbelltown’s HJ Daley Library on 4645 4444 to book an appointment with a Tax Help volunteer.

For those who like to complete their own tax return, but have some questions they’d like answered beforehand, residents are welcome to come along to one of two free Tax Talk sessions presented by a speaker from the ATO.

The sessions include information about MyGov, MyTax, various ATO applications, deductions, record keeping, small business and superannuation.

They will be held at HJ Daley Library from 10am next Wednesday, September 13 and 3pm on Wednesday September 21.

Anyone seeking more information, or wishing to book for the free Tax Help service or Tax Talk sessions, should contact the library on 4645 4444.
