It seems it was only yesterday the first AnnanRoma festival was held.
Yet this celebration of local food and wine will be held for the 10th year in a row in 2017.
But the news gets even sweeter regarding the 10th AnnanRoma at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan on Sunday, April 2.
This year there will be an additional “eat street’’ – a “sweet street’’ which will feature a decadent display of sweet and dessert offerings.
There will be treats from Siderno Pasticceria, Gourmet Macarons, The Ice Cream & Coffee Company and RicoCoco’s Chocolate Tea, among others.
Last year the AnnanRoma eat street was a pulsating mass of people seeking out the delicious food on offer and this year expect to find an even bigger menu.
This year’s eat street line up will boast Asian-fusion stars Kyubi Modern Asian Dining, quirky newcomers Vulkan Balkan, Mexican kings Frank and Blanco, and mouth watering burger combinations and meaty offerings from the likes of Juicy Goose, Otis Bar & Grill, Burger Frank, Embers Charcoal Kitchen and Orangeville Meat Co.
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“People don’t often link the Macarthur region with great food, but this cluster of Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly areas is home to some incredible kitchen talent and quality produce,’’ says Rebecca Anderson, event organiser and visitor experience manager at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan.[/social_quote]
“AnnanRoma is such a special event because it reminds people about that.
“Historically, Macarthur was the food bowl for the Sydney basin, and here we are now, still filling the bellies of Sydneysiders.
“It is so great to see so many local businesses put in the spotlight and to receive such fantastic support from the greater Sydney community,’’ Ms Anderson said.
“Last year we had some 11,000 people come from as far as the Central Coast and Cronulla.
“We look forward to seeing them again this year, for more good food and good fun.”
It’s all about the food and the wine at AnnanRoma, but the entertainment ain’t bad either.
This year festival goers can enjoy their food while listening to headliners Little Georgia and local acts Luke Koteras and The Bells.
There will also be hands-on children’s activities managed by the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan’s expert education team.
