Police believe a body found yesterday is that of missing Bringelly man Mark Browning.

A man’s body found near a road at Bringelly yesterday is believed to be that of missing man Mark Browning.

Emergency services were called to a clump of trees at Carrington Road, after the body was found yesterday afternoon around 4pm.

Although not formally identified, the body is believed to be that of Mr Browning, who was reported missing to police last Saturday after he failed to return home.

Officers from the Camden Local Area Command, with assistance from PolAir, police trailbikes, the Mounted Unit and SES took part in the search for him since he was reported missing by his family.

Police will now investigate the man’s death and prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

• In a separate incident, police are investigating a crash after a child was struck by a car last night.

Shortly after 7pm emergency services were called to Tamworth Crescent, Hoxton Park, after reports a child had been hit by a car.

Initial inquiries suggest the boy, aged 6, was crossing the road when he was struck.

The 30-year-old male driver of the Holden Astra was not injured.

The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Green Valley Local Area Command attended and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
