Have a super time these school holidays, with Campbelltown Council offering activities galore.

The school holidays are almost here, and if you’re looking for ways to keep the kids entertained, Campbelltown City Council’s summer school holiday program is bursting with activities suitable for children of all ages and interests.

Campbelltown City’s four library branches offer a great range of activities to keep kids busy during the break. Superheroes will be the focus of a special Storytime which will see children dress up as their favourite superhero, while comic artist Matthew Lin will bring out the creativity of participants at a Heroes and Villains drawing workshop for 12 to 18-year-olds. Circus skills, programming with Scratch and summer cap workshops, and movies Ice Age: Collision Course and The Good Dinosaur, will also be part of the library’s school holiday program.

♦ Families can keep cool and have fun at Macquarie Fields Swimming Centre, The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury, and Eagle Vale Central, with all pools offering a learn to swim program over five consecutive days, in addition to pool inflatables days.

♦ School Holiday Care at Campbelltown and Eagle Vale is a great option for working families, with a range of excursions and theme days on offer.

It runs from 7am to 6pm daily (excluding public holidays) and will include exciting excursions to places like Inflatable World and the Wollongong Science Centre, and a variety of activities including a Lego Challenge workshop, a sports gala day and Music Mania, a musical day with karaoke, a talent show and disco.

Free holiday activities include a jumping castle on January 17 and 24 and balance bike trial sessions on January 20 and 23.

Entry is free – just bring your own bike or scooter and helmet.

♦ Campbelltown Arts Centre will foster creativity through Art Explorers which gives children the opportunity to enjoy hands-on activities, explore current exhibitions and have a picnic in the Sculpture Garden.

The arts centre will also offer interactive music classes taught by professional musicians, a screen acting boot camp with NIDA and the opportunity to see, hear and touch the stunning wildlife of Taronga Zoo’s Zoomobile.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said council’s school holiday program offered a diverse program of events and activities.

“Our program highlights what a great place Campbelltown is for families,’’ the mayor said.
