Everyone loves a parade and the annual Fisher’s Ghost Festival parade is very popular.

One of the highlights of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost is the street parade.

Taking place on the first Saturday of the festival, the parade has come to be regarded as both the official start of 10 days of fun activities as well as a fitting way to celebrate the community spirit that the world famous Campbelltown event embodies.

The 2015 Street Parade will be held on Saturday, November 7, starting at 1.30pm.

The parade showcases the legend of Fisher’s Ghost and the diversity of our local community in a vast array of creative forms.

It is an energetic, lively and colourful celebration of Campbelltown city’s history and its people.

So, what are you waiting for – blow up the balloons, put on your best party clothes and get in the spirit – Fred is calling on everyone from local business people, schools, sporting clubs and community groups and clubs to join the party as the town celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

The annual street parade event is a great way to get involved in our city’s biggest annual celebration and help create awareness of your club, organisation or group.

Not to mention the great cash prizes up for grabs for the most outstanding parade entries.

But if you want to be part of this year’s parade the deadline is fast approaching.

Applications to enter will close next Wednesday, October 14.

parade2014iCampbelltown City Council invites local schools, sporting and community groups, organisations and businesses to take their place in history by getting creative and putting together an entry for the parade.

Contributions to the event may include floats, walking groups, puppets, costumes, musical instruments and/or choreographed movement.

But they should be inspired by one of these two street parade:

· The legend of Fisher’s Ghost

· 60th annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost – join the party!

To get an entry go to the Fishers Ghost website.
