Stay cool on January 26: Macquarie Fields swimming centre.

Local residents will be pleased to know that in addition to Australia Day ceremonies and entertainment at Koshigaya Park and Hallinan Park, Ingleburn, Campbelltown’s three swimming pool centres will have activities and giveaways on offer to celebrate our national day.

Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre, Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre and Eagle Vale Central will help keep many local families cool from 9.30am to 5pm on Australia Day.

Each centre will have a special guest character visiting throughout the day to give away a range of apparel, equipment and confectionery.

Winnie the Poo will be the star attraction at Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre, while Elmo will be appearing at the Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury.

Eagle Vale Central’s star turn will be Dora The Explorer.

There will be free pool entry for up to three accompanying children with every full paying adult (standard $5.60 adult entry) and free entry for children aged five years and under.

All visitors to each centre will receive a lucky door ticket on entry.

Prizes will be drawn at various times on the day, and winners need to be present.

The following prizes are up for grabs at each centre:

Three month fitness membership to be drawn at 11am;

One month fitness membership drawn at midday;

10 visit swim pass drawn at 1pm

Fun pool inflatables will be operating at each centre for kids aged from seven to 12 years and there’ll also be extra fun outside the pools, with a jumping castle at each centre.

Hannah Mitchell
Young local songstress Hannah Mitchell is making her mark on Campbelltown with her country twang sound. Hannah performed at last year’s Fisher’s Gig and will be performing at Koshigaya Park as part of Australia Day entertainment for Campbelltown residents on January 26.
Dinosaur Train
Also at Koshigaya Park on January 26 will be Dinosaur Train, which is set in a whimsically realistic, prehistoric world of jungles, swamps, active volcanoes and oceans. It’s a great show to help kids, aged three to six, learn to think scientifically as they discover new dinosaur species.
