As the weather warms up, locals can “splash into spring’’ at a number of events lined up at the Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre, Miller – and it’s all free.
A number of events are planned and which will take place each month over Spring and Summer.
The leisure centre has lined up a slip ‘n’ slide afternoon, a movie night and a DJ.
There’ll be plenty to do with jumping castles, barbecues and outdoor volleyball, as well as the indoor and outdoor pools on offer.
“This is the perfect way for friends and family to celebrate summer,” said the mayor of Liverpool, Ned Mannoun.
Centre manager Alexandra Thompson said families attending the events would have the opportunity to make a gold coin donation which will go towards community programs at the centre.
“Our staff members are friendly and welcoming,” Ms Thompson said.
“The events are designed to give back to the community and all funds raised will go into developing future community programs.
“We have plenty of grassed areas, an indoor and outdoor pool, health club and indoor sporting facilities that make the centre the perfect playground this summer.”
The first event, Spring Slip and Slide, is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 and will feature a jumping castle, outdoor volleyball, inflatable water slide and plenty of slip and slides.
Money raised from the donations, kiosk and sausage sizzle will support community programs at the centre.
