Shamini Flint will give a free talk in Liverpool on May 25.

Shamini Flint, an acclaimed author, academic, lawyer and environmental activist is coming to the south west.

Shamini, who left behind a career in corporate law to pursue writing and stay at home to care for her two children four years ago, will discuss her passion for crime writing at the Liverpool City Library on Monday, May 25 at 4pm.

Adults are invited to attend the free seminar where Shamini will talk about her inspiration to “change the world’’ through her work and deliver a series of messages based on the theme “A life of crime’’.

Shamini will share stories about the conundrums and curiosities of Asian society, and help those who attend get a better understanding of the region.

Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun said Shamini was an esteemed author with a very impressive resume.

During the one-hour session Shamini will explore cultural and environmental themes focused predominantly on Asia.

Her children’s books include Jungle Blues, Turtle Takes a Trip and the Sasha  series named after her daughter.

She has also written five adult crime fiction novels as part of her Inspector Singh series titled;
