Demand for rural residential homesites continues to significantly increase and is expected to drive property sales in 2021 as more purchasers seek an affordable tree change lifestyle away from the Sydney CBD.

Urban Land Housing is bringing forward the launch of Stage 4 in The Acres, Wollondilly following unprecedented demand for prestige land in its unique residential master planned community located on the edge of outer South Western Sydney.

Previously a prestigious horse stud, The Acres is bound by the Nepean River, Myrtle Creek, Bargo River and rural residential land.

The development offers 125 prime rural residential homesites spread across 110 hectares.

All acreage land in Stages 1 to 3 comprising 67 lots were snapped up quickly.

“There is an extremely limited supply of approved rural residential land in South Western Sydney, which contributed to the early sales success,’’ says Christopher Lowry, managing director of Urban Land Housing.

“The new environment, created by Covid as well as record low interest rates, have been contributing factors to heightened interest in large lot residential living.

“These rare acreage homesites combined with affordability and location in the heart of burgeoning South Western Sydney will continue to witness strong demand.

“Accessibility to a tree change lifestyle within 95kilometres from Sydney’s CBD and the ability to work from home with plenty of space supported by a rural outlook is very appealing to buyers,’’ he said.

“Upgraders from South Western Sydney have led sales in the first releases. They recognised the advantages associated with rural residential living, accessing existing community facilities and close proximity to the Southern Highlands and Wollongong’s famous beaches.

“The Acres superb location at Tahmoor, in the midst of one of the fastest growing areas within Sydney’s South West, supported by a flourishing food scene and a wide variety of recreational activities, presents an excellent opportunity to purchase a prime homesite that fits single level living with a home office, spacious alfresco and expansive pool area,” Mr Lowry said.

Stage 4 comprises 21 rural residential homesites ranging from 4000 sqm to 1 hectare. Prices start at $750,000.

A two hectare public park with play equipment, exercise station and multi-purpose games court will feature in The Acres.

Civil construction and utility servicing works will commence later this year.

A number of bespoke and leading project builders are providing a gallery of ranch style home designs for purchasers to choose from.

Design guidelines and protective covenants are in place to ensure home asset values are enhanced and the community maintains its rural feel and consistency of character.

A large number of prestige homes have already been built in The Acres.

The Acres is within a four kilometre drive to Tahmoor train station, eight kilometres from the historic village of Picton, 19 kilometres from Wilton, 28 kilometres from Camden, 42 kilometres from Campbelltown and 52 kilometres from Wollongong’s beautiful beaches.

It is also close to Western Sydney International Airport, which opens in 2026.
