Camden Musical Society is set to dazzle local audiences later this month with its vibrant new production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Running at the Camden Civic Centre from 12 – 21 June 2026, the production of the musical packed with unforgettable songs, infectious energy and heartwarming storytelling promises a colourful theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.

Featuring a cast of almost 40 performers, this community-driven production celebrates the spirit of local theatre, with cast members ranging in age from seven to 70.

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has captivated audiences around the world for decades with iconic songs including Any Dream Will Do, “Go Go Go Joseph and Close Every Door.

The high-energy production follows the biblical story of Joseph, a dreamer gifted with visions of the future whose jealous brothers sell him into slavery.

Filled with pop, rock, calypso and country-inspired musical numbers, the show blends humour, emotion and spectacle into a joyous theatrical celebration.

Camden Musical Society adds its own groovy twist to the tale, too.

“With an overarching nod to the 1970s and some of the decade’s most iconic characters, this vibrant new production promises to deliver the timeless story through a fresh and unique lens — one that will tug at the heartstrings of audiences young and old alike,” says the president of Camden Musical Society, Kerrie Jiear.

“A beloved family favourite, this spectacular show is packed with crowd-pleasing songs, toe-tapping numbers, and a feel-good message that resonates with people from all walks of life.”

Founded in Camden in 2019, Camden Musical Society has become known for delivering high-quality community productions while fostering local talent and creativity.

“This show is pure joy. From the incredible music to the vibrant choreography and the heartwarming message of hope and resilience, Joseph is a musical that truly has something for everyone,” said Inge Marais, Camden Musical Society marketing.
