Three primary school classes will have the opportunity to interact with some of our country’s stunning wildlife when Taronga Zoo brings their Zoomobile to the Georges River Environmental Education Centre this Friday, October 24.
The competition, initiated by 702 ABC Sydney Breakfast presenter, Robbie Buck, required primary school children to enter by simply telling Robbie some interesting facts about their favourite native animal in 500 words or less.
The station was inundated with some very creative entries with the following three primary school classes standing out above the rest:
• Peakhurst Public School – class 5/6M won with their entry about the Blue Tongue Lizard
• Lansvale Public school – class 5/6S impressed with their entry about the Death Adder
• Fairfield West Public School – class 1VP shone with their entry about koalas.
The three classes will visit the Simmos Beach Nature Reserve at Macquarie Fields, meet some stunning native animals including a snake, possum, echidna and young crocodile, as well as enjoy a bush walk and plant some native trees provided by Campbelltown City Council.
The day commences at 9.30am with schools enjoying a welcome introduction by Robbie Buck and morning tea before they embark on their wildlife experience.
