Speaker posting: MP Melanie Gibbons.

The state member for Holsworthy Melanie Gibbons has been re-appointed temporary Speaker in the Legislative Assembly of the NSW Parliament.

Ms Gibbons this afternoon said it was an honour to accept a Speaker’s Warrant from Shelley Hancock, the Member for South Coast, formally appointing her to the role.

“I am extremely humbled to be considered a second time for the role of temporary Speaker,” Ms Gibbons said.
“There is still plenty of work to do in the Holsworthy electorate and I am incredibly grateful to the community for letting me represent them for another term in NSW Parliament.

Ms Gibbons has also been reappointed as Chair of Office of the Valuer-General Committee and made Chair of Children and Young Person’s Committee, where she was previously Deputy Chair.

Ms Gibbons is now also a Member of the Legislation Review Committee.

“It will be a busy term with new responsibilities but I look forward to the challenge,” Ms Gibbons said.
