Campbelltown Hospital will celebrate an important milestone with the Acute Services Building set to host its first Community Open Day on Wednesday, March 25.

The open day will include interactive health information stalls, entertainment, a sausage sizzle and fun activities for kids.

Acting Camden and Campbelltown hospitals general manager Chris Leahy said the open day will be an opportunity for local residents to learn more about their local hospital, the services available and its $134 million redevelopment.

“Campbelltown Hospital is one of the busiest hospitals, servicing a local community that continues to grow each year,” Mr Leahy said.

“Last year hospital staff delivered almost 3,000 babies, treated almost 60,000 people in the emergency department and undertook more than 9,000 operations.

“At the open day visitors will have the opportunity to chat to a range of health professionals and learn more about departments including the kids ward, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), operating theatres and anaesthetics.

“We are very proud of our hospital and staff are looking forward to welcoming the local community into our new building,” he said.
