NBN Co satellite ground stations: local MP wants to hear from residents who have experienced problems with NBN

Have you experienced NBN installation problems, outages and slow speeds?

If you have and live in the federal seat of Werriwa, your local member wants to hear from you.

Anne Stanley, the Federal Member for Werriwa, is inviting local residents to provide her with feedback about their experience with the National Broadband Network (NBN).

Some suburbs inside her electorate, such as Macquarie Fields, are now able to access NBN internet plans.

Ms Stanley says that these new connections will only come from the Turnbull Government’s copper-based Fibre to the Node (FTTN) plan, not Labor’s “superior’’ Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) model.

“From areas that already have Malcolm Turnbull’s flawed copper NBN, we know there have been significant issues including installation problems, outages and slow speeds,” the MP said this week.

“Too often when something goes wrong people are frustratingly passed between their retail provider and NBN Co.

“Neither side wants to own the problem, but all you want is for someone to fix your broadband connection,’’ Ms Stanley said.

“I want to know about your experience with getting connected to the NBN, and once you are connected, if you’re actually getting the services you’re paying for.

“I’m also interested in how any faults were handled by your retail provider and/or NBN Co.’’

Ms Stanley said that Australians were promised fast and reliable broadband at affordable prices to be delivered by the end of 2016, but this government has shown consumers “nothing but contempt’’.

“As Malcom Turnbull’s copper NBN rolls out, it’s becoming increasingly clear that its reliance on outdated technology is leaving consumers stranded with slow speeds and unacceptably high drop-out rates,’’ Ms Stanley said.

“You deserve to get the internet service you paid for.

“I am very interested to hear about your experiences.

“I want to make sure that no one in our community is left behind as part of the NBN rollout.’’

Local residents with NBN issues should contact the electorate office of Anne Stanley by phoning 9829 7477 or emailing anne.stanley.mp@aph.gov.au
