The Narellan Chamber of Commerce jumps straight into the March state election frying pan when it holds its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, February 11 at Harrington Grove Country Club.
A Q&A of the two major party candidates for the March 28 poll will take place on the night, with a 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
The sitting Liberal member, Chris Patterson, who wrested the seat from Labor’s Geoff Corrigan at the 2011 election, and Labor’s 2015 candidate, Cindy Cagney, will face off when the Q&A is held at the Narellan chamber event.
Before getting elected to parliament, Mr Patterson sat on Camden Council for over a decade – including five years as mayor – learning first-hand the challenges the people of Camden face.
After finishing his schooling, Chris managed his family’s business for more than 20 years and taught hospitality management at TAFE for a number of years.
He and his wife Vicki live in Camden with their four children.
Local resident Cindy Cagney is also a former Camden councillor.
Ms Cagney has always been a strong advocate for residents, businesses and community groups within the Camden region.
She has experienced the growth and development of our area and considers that, rather than supporting budget cuts, Camden needs to have stronger representation in Parliament.
Now if you thought a Q&A with local pollies was more than enough reason to attend the Narellan chamber’s first meeting of the year, wait, there’s more.
Also on the program for February 11 is a panel of local experts who will try to answer the question: Is Your Business Ready To Grow With Narellan?
Panellists include Darren Zammit of LJ Hooker Commercial, Jarrod O’Brien of Ausure Insurance Brokers Macarthur, Steve Wisbey of Two Rocks Marketing and Communications, Belinda McLean of Human Resources Focus and Damon May of MayTek IT Solutions.
