Teenager threatened with knife in Mt Annan home invasion

A teenager was threatened with a knife during a home invasion in Mt Annan in the early hours of this morning.

Police say they were called to a home at McEwan Circuit around 2.40am.

On arrival, officers were told three males had forced entry to the home before threatening a 14-year-old boy with a knife.

The group stole personal items, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and conducted an extensive search of the area, however, the trio were not located.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal single-vehicle crash in Wedderburn.

A joint investigation by Campbelltown City Police Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit has led to the arrest last night at Wetherill Park of a 33-year-old Buxton man.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving (occasioning death), negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm).

The man was refused bail and was due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (August 28).

Police say the Wedderburn incident took place on the evening of July 30 when emergency services were called to Lysaght Road.

They had responded to report a vehicle had crashed and rolled.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, a 33-year-old Ambarvale man died at the scene.

A 33-year-old Glen Alpine man sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Two men have been charged following an investigation into the misuse of a Corrective Services NSW uniform.

On August 6, officers attached to Georges River Highway Patrol conducting proactive patrols of the Liverpool area, stopped a silver Holden Cruze on the Hume Highway at Warwick Farm.

Officers spoke with the driver, a 23-year-old man, before searching the vehicle and allegedly seizing cannabis and a Corrective Services NSW uniform.

The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for possessing a prohibited drug, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, wear or have in possession a correctional officer uniform and two alleged breaches of Covid-19 directions.

Police will allege in court that the man – who is not a Corrective Services NSW employee – told officers he was a rap music artist and had obtained the uniform to use in the filming of a music video.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on September 2.

The matter was subsequently referred to detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad’s Corrective Services Investigation Unit.

Following further inquiries, detectives issued a 22-year-old man with a Court Attendance Notice for goods suspected stolen. The man, who is not a Corrective Services NSW employee, is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on September 15.
