There’s more than two months before the festive season, but one local politician has already turned his mind to it, launching a Christmas card design competition.
Campbelltown students in Year 3 and 4 will be given the opportunity to create their own Christmas card design, with the winning artwork being used on Campbelltown MP Greg Warren’s official 2015 Christmas cards.
The theme for the competition is Christmas in Campbelltown, and encourages students to create a design that showcases what Christmas means to them.
Mr Warren said the competition was a great opportunity to showcase the creative talents of Campbelltown’s youngest residents.
“Supporting and nurturing the creative talents of our children is something I’m really passionate about, and this competition achieves exactly that,” Mr Warren said.
“I’ve asked every public school principal in Campbelltown to allow their students to participate, and I’m really looking forward to seeing some of the wonderful submissions.”
The competition is open to all public school students in Year 3 and 4 in the Campbelltown region.
Mr Warren was elected the Member for Campbelltown at the March election earlier this year, so this will be his first Christmas as the local MP.
