Thanks for a great effort over 30 years: MP Greg Warren with members of WILMA.

WILMA women’s health centre was established in 1987 in Campbelltown.

It came about as a result of the effort of women in the local Macarthur area or WILMA, hence the acronym it has been known by for the past 30 years.

WILMA is a non-government organisation that is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all women.

It currently cares for around 300 women from the Macarthur area, a number that continues to grow.

The WILMA women’s health centre provides services such as counselling and natural therapy.

It also offers psychology, nursing and medical services, which are bulk billed, providing a massive financial relief for struggling women.

The Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren, has praised the work done by WILMA over the past 30 years.

“I’m extremely grateful for the work these women are doing for our local community here in Campbelltown and in the Macarthur area,’’ the local MP said.

“Looking after 300 women is no easy task so I truly take my hat off to them.

“We must also recognise the fact that WILMA has been serving the Campbelltown community for over 30 years now, so I am sure that thousands of women in the Macarthur region will never forget their work and the impact it had on their lives.

“There is nothing more important than looking after the most vulnerable members of our community, which is why I’m so proud to support WILMA and their work looking after around 300 women at present, suffering through periods of homelessness and domestic violence in Campbelltown,” Mr Warren said.

He was speaking after dropping in to the WILMA women’s health centre in Campbelltown to donate feminine hygiene products donated by a local Catholic school.

The hygiene products will be used by victims of domestic and family violence in the Macarthur region.
