Moorebak Baseball Softball Club has previously received a grant under the program.

The Community Building Partnership program is on offer again this year.

The program offers funding for infrastructure based projects that meet a need in the local community.

Applications for funding are now open and will close on August 7 and a local MP is calling for local groups to apply.

“Incorporated not for profit community organisations and local councils are once again encouraged to apply for funding to build and improve facilities in the local community,” says the Member for Holsworthy, Melanie Gibbons.

“This program supports the building, refurbishment or enhancement of infrastructure facilities that deliver positive social, recreational and environmental outcomes for the community,” she said.

In Ms Gibbons’ seat of Holsworthy, Life Education NSW Pty Ltd, Lucas Heights Community School P&C Association, Catholic Education Office Archdiocese Of Sydney, Police Citizens Youth Club NSW Ltd and Moorebank Baseball Softball club have won funding under the program previously.

Others include The Junction Works Ltd, Australian Foundation for Disability, Liverpool Action Group, St Joseph’s Parish Moorebank, Holsworthy Hammerheads Swim Club Inc, Anglican Church Property Trust Diocese Of Sydney and Holsworthy Long Day and Occasional Childcare Centre Incorporated.

Applications, which are open in all NSW electorates, can be made via the Community Building Partnership website (http://www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au), where potential applicants can obtain additional information regarding the program and the types of projects that are eligible to apply for funding.

The application period closes at 5pm on Friday, August 7.
