Man in his 30s dies in two car collision at Tahmoor

A man has died following a crash near Picton earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Rockford Road and Kammer Place, Tahmoor following reports of a collision between a Mitsubishi Challenger and a Nissan Pulsar just before 11:30am.

Police say the driver of the Nissan – believed to be a man aged in his 30s – died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the Mitsubishi – a 64-year-old woman – suffered minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command and Macarthur Highway Patrol attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

In a separate incident, a man was injured during a home invasion in Macquarie Fields overnight.

Police say three men wearing balaclavas broke into a house in Adam Place around 1.30am.

The three men were holding knives and what appeared to be firearms. They demanded the two occupants give them money and drugs, but were told there was neither at the location.

One of the occupants was then punched and kicked by the men. They then caused damage to the house, before leaving with two gaming consoles.

The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics for facial injuries and was later taken to Campbelltown Hospital.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident.

Any witnesses are urged to contact Campbelltown City police or Crime Stoppers.
