Man arrested and charged over decade of sexual abuse of child

Police arrested a man at a house in Ruse and charged him following investigations into alleged historical child sexual offences.

Detectives from Green Valley Local Area Command have been investigating allegations a girl was sexually assaulted on an ongoing basis while living at premises in the south west region.

Police will allege the sexual assaults occurred between 1999 and 2009 with the first incident occurring at a house in Canley Vale when the girl was five years old.

About 1:30pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 20), detectives attended a house in Ruse where they arrested a 42-year-old man.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with 22 offences including aggravated sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, incite act of indecency and common assault.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, September 17.
