The Macarthur Rams have moved to fifth spot on the National Premier Leagues [NPL] 2 NSW Men’s competition ladder after recording their first win of the season on Saturday night.

And the Rams did it in style, putting four past Fraser Park in their first competition NPL match at home since the official opening of the artificial turf surface at Lynwood Park a few weeks ago.

Elsid Barkhousir hit his first for the club with Cristian Leiva Martinez and Mason Versi, along with an own goal by Davide Talone, providing Macarthur Rams with a comfortable victory on the night.

It was not Talone’s night, as he also received a red card later in the match. Fraser Park’s sole reply came from Nathan Sansom.

The Rams travel to the Central Coast on Saturday night to take on the Mariners in round three of the competition.

The PlayStation 4 NPL 2 NSW Men’s is the top tier league of men’s football in NSW.

The league consists of 12 teams competing in a round-robin structure where each side plays everyone else twice.

The teams are: Bankstown Berries, Bankstown City, Central Coast Mariners, Fraser ParkC, Macarthur Rams, Marconi Stallions, Mounties Wanderers, Mt Druitt Town Rangers, Northern Tigers, North Shore Mariners, Spirit, St George, Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers.

Upon completion of the round robin competition, the team that finishes top of the ladder are crowned as premiers.

The top five sides by the end of the season compete in the Championship Series, which consist of six finals games, whereby the five teams competing are whittled down to just two.

The teams are seeded upon their entry into the Championship Series according to their final position on the ladder.

The final two teams compete in the Grand Final.
