Raby 1 is included in the list of parks to win improvements

Campbelltown City Council is inviting local residents to provide feedback via an online survey to help shape the look and feel of a number of local parks and playgrounds throughout the Campbelltown Local Government Area as part of its city-wide improvement program.

The survey gives residents the opportunity to share their thoughts on what they would like to see at nine local playgrounds that have been identified for refurbishment during the next six months.

Council has allocated more than $6.1 million to the revitalisation of parks and playgrounds over the next 10 years as part of the Renew-Connect-Revitalise program.

Works will include the replacement of damaged and aging playground equipment, the provision of additional seating and barbecue areas, as well as improvements to park amenities, landscaping and lighting.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, encouraged residents to participate in the survey to help shape their local park.

“We’re seeking feedback from local families and residents on what play equipment they’d like to see and any other features that will enhance their local park or playground,” Cr Lake said.

“This is a great opportunity to be involved and put forward practical ideas which will help guide council as we conduct a review and renewal of open space areas throughout the Campbelltown Local Government Area.”

The survey is available online via council’s website, and comments are invited from all members of the community until Friday, December 12. While every effort will be made to take community feedback on board, not all suggestions will be practicable.

Parks identified for refurbishment include Manooka Reserve, Bradbury; Topaz Park, Eagle Vale; Eschol Park Sports Complex, Eschol Park; Abington Reserve, Glen Alpine; Ingleburn Reserve, Ingleburn; Hyacinth Park, Macquarie Fields; Salter Reserve, Minto, Heathfield Park, Raby and Raby Sports Complex No 1 and No 2.
