There is a house in Leumeah they call Live ‘n’ Lounging*.
Songwriters and bands have been coming to this house since early 2012 to play their music in an intimate, casual setting, to an audience of appreciative music lovers who give every artist the respect they deserve.
There is a dinner break during the show, bringing musicians and fans of music together, a special time for everyone to meet and have a chat.
“We are a friendly bunch of all ages and we welcome all newcomers,’’ say Kim and Bernie, who are behind Live ‘n’ Lounging, a house/garden gig movement that brings live music to the Macarthur area.
Shows happen monthly and no two are the same, says their Facebook page.
Because it’s a private house, no address details are given out until someone purchases a ticket to the gig.
The next Live ‘n’ Lounging gig is scheduled for Sunday, July 1 and will feature Daniel Champagne with support from Rob O’Brien.
Like many people we haven’t heard of Daniel Champagne but it seems he is playing over 40 shows around Australia in his biggest Australian tour yet and many are already selling out.
This is what one reviewer recently wrote: “Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band, Champagne is just magical’’ (themusic.com.au)
Kim and Bernie say that unfortunately “this maybe our last house concert if we cannot get enough people attending – house concerts only can exist if the community supports them.’’
If you’d like to try a bit of Live ‘n’ Lounging, here are the details of the Daniel Champagne gig:
