Lifeline Macarthur, like other similar crisis help services, have been getting record calls for assistance in the past few months.

To meet that demand for help more resources are needed, and that’s where backing Lifeline is so important.

The latest helping hand in the form of vital funding for Lifeline Macarthur has come from energy company AGL.

The AGL partnership means a boost for Lifeline Macarthur financial counselling services which offer community member free assistance when they are experiencing financial difficulties.

Brad Hannagan, the CEO of Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney was grateful for the support of AGL.

“This year alone our community has been faced with drought, bushfires, floods and Covid-19.

“All this on top of the usual financial and mental stress people experience,’’ he said.

“Our financial counselling service gives clients the support they need to manage their finances, now and in the future,’’ he said.

“We are very grateful for the support of our community partner AGL.

“Without their support we would not be able to support our community,’’ Mr Hannagan said.

“Covid-19 has seen so many changes for so many of our community members, businesses, and not-for-profits, as expected it’s great to see Macarthur businesses working together during this crisis for the good of our community.’’

AGL community relations manager, Marina Draper, said the company was happy to help.

“AGL is proud to be working with Lifeline Macarthur to provide counselling services to members of the Macarthur community dealing with financial stress during this incredibly difficult time,’’ Ms Draper said.

“AGL’s purpose centres around how we improve the lives of our people, customers, communities and planet.

“Partnering with Lifeline Macarthur helps us to fulfil this purpose while supporting the neighbourhoods in which we operate,’’ she said.
