If you run, or would like to start, your own book club, Narellan Library can help you out with Book Club Kits!

The kits include 10 copies of a book, with the choice of fiction, non-fiction and biographies.

There’s also a set of discussion questions to help your group get the conversation started and the DVD of the film adaptation, when available.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said as long as the book club had at least one library member, the group could register and borrow the kits.

“From Anh Do’s The Happiest Refugee: A Memoir to John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars and even Solomon Northup’s Twelve Years a Slave, there’s a book kit suited to every book club,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We’ve also made sure this program is flexible. The kits can be borrowed for six weeks at a time, so groups won’t need to rush through the book.

“But, for those speed-readers, a single group can borrow two kits at any one time.

“And, if your group needs somewhere to hold your book group, Narellan Library has spaces available for book club meetings. It’s a terrific way to take the guess work out of organising a book club.”

For residents who would like to be part of an existing book club, Camden Library has two Book Discussion Groups that meet monthly.

The groups meet on the third Thursday of each month, at 6.30pm and the fourth Wednesday of each month, at 10am.
