  Leumeah man faces nine counts of making guns at home.Police have arrested and charged a Leumeah man for manufacturing and supplying firearms.

Police arrested the man yesterday morning when officers from the Campbelltown Local Area Command went to the home on Wyndham Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture and supply of firearms.

Police will allege that firearms were being manufactured at the home, and that four home-made pistols had been supplied to other people.

Those pistols were recovered by police, and found to be capable of firing .22 calibre and .410 shotgun rounds.

Police arrested a 45-year-old-man at the Leumeah home.

Police executed a search warrant and allegedly located and seized tools, including lathes and drills, springs, ammunition, a vehicle, and partially completed home-made guns.

A pipe bomb was also allegedly located and destroyed by the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit.

The man was charged with nine offences including; four counts of supplying prohibited firearms, supplying two prohibited firearms, ongoing supply of prohibited firearms, manufacturing prohibited firearms, possessing ammunition and making an explosive for unlawful purpose.

He was refused bail when he appeared at Campbelltown Local Court earlier today.

Woman also arrested for traffic offences

At the home, police also arrested a 22-year-old Ashcroft woman over a motor vehicle crash at Ashcroft on Monday, June 27, 2016.

During the crash, a car allegedly hit a residential house.

The woman was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with traffic offences and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Friday, August 8.
