Dr Khairul Chowdhury has been endorsed as the Liberal candidate for Macquarie Fields for the March 25 NSW state election.
He will take on the sitting Labor member, Anoulack Chanthivong, who is seeking four more years as the Macquarie Fields MP.
Mr Chowdhury says he wants to be a voice for the community in a Perrottet Government which has a focus on easing pressures on family budgets.
“This is an incredibly important election that we are facing in March this year,’’ he says.
“It is vital we continue the strong leadership from the Perrottet team which is building a brighter future for our community and NSW as a whole,” Mr Chowdhury said.
“I feel incredibly passionate about the diverse Macquarie Fields area.
“Our community is facing challenges and that’s why local representation is so important.
“We have to continue the good work being performed by the Perrottet Government such as the budget easing voucher scheme including Back To School, Creative Kids, Active Kids, First Lap and more.
“The First Home Buyers Choice initiative is also the best way for young people to buy their own home without having to deal with the burden of stamp duty.
“Only the Perrottet team has a plan to manage the State’s finances and ensure Macquarie Fields receives the necessary investment into key areas such as cost of living, education, hospitals, roads, infrastructure and services.”
Mr Chowdhury has close ties to the community, having being one of the founders of the Campbelltown School of Bengali Language and Culture as well as other community organisations.
“The Macquarie Fields community means so much to me,’’ he says.
“It would be a great honour to be their voice in NSW Parliament,” he said.
