Peter Sterling, Greg Alexander and Nathan Hindmarsh went to rugby league nursery Patrician Brothers Fairfield.
So did Canterbury and Wests great Paul Langmack and Wests Tigers centre Dean Collis, plus plenty more.
In the future people may be talking about another Patrician Brothers product, Jesse Reid, from Campbelltown.
The talented 11 year old plays footy for the Campbelltown Warriors under 12s team.
But next year he will have a chance to pull on the famous jersey of Patrician Brothers.
That’s because young Jesse has accepted a rugby league scholarship from the school.
He was spotted playing a game of footy for the Warriors earlier this year and his parents were approached and encouraged to apply for a scholarship.
Jesse, whose favourite footy team is the Bulldogs, says he’s excited at the prospect of starting high school next year at Patrician Brothers.
The youngster has been playing league for five years and he would like to be a fullback or centre.
Jesse said the best part of playing footy was “tackling and running’’ and “having fun with his teammates’’.
Scott Galvin, president of the Campbelltown Warriors, said getting a scholarship was a great achievement for Jesse and the club.
“Congratulations from all of us at the club, Jesse, and remember, once a Warrior always a Warrior,’’ Mr Galvin said.
♦ Last Saturday all but one Warriors teams played at home, Worrell Park.
